Therapy for young people and children
Practical therapy for young minds — calm, confidence and change that lasts
Hypnotherapy & Emotional Support for Young People in Herefordshire and on-line
I work with children, teenagers and young adults who are struggling with the pressures of modern life — whether that’s anxiety, low confidence, disordered sleep, disordered eating, body image negativity, phobias, or challenges around school and friendships. My practice is based in Herefordshire, where I provide both hypnotherapy and emotional support therapy designed to be practical, age-appropriate, and effective.

My Approach
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Every young person brings their own story, their own challenges, and their own strengths. My role is to listen, understand, and offer strategies that actually work for them. Sessions are built around clear goals, honest conversations, and therapeutic tools that help to shift patterns of thought, behaviour and emotion.

How Hypnotherapy Helps
Hypnotherapy is not about “losing control” or stage tricks — it’s a safe and proven method for calming the nervous system, reducing anxiety, improving sleep, breaking unhelpful habits, and building confidence. For young people, it can be a powerful way to access change quickly, especially when paired with mentoring and emotional support.
Some of the most common issues I support young people with include:
-
Anxiety, panic and exam stress
-
Sleep difficulties and nightmares
-
Confidence and self-esteem
-
disordered eating
-
Fears, phobias and social worries
-
Emotional regulation and big feelings
-
School refusal and transition challenges
-
Support for autistic and ADHD young people facing overwhelm, demand avoidance, difficulties "fitting in" etc.
Working Together
I usually begin with an initial consultation to get to know the young person (and their parent or carer if appropriate). From there, we agree clear aims with magic wand included (when appropriate) and decide on the best way forward. Sessions can take place in-person in Herefordshire, or online for families further afield. I also liaise with schools and other professionals if it helps support the child consistently.

Experience with Young People & Neurodiversity
I have spent many years mentoring and supporting young people, including those who are neurodivergent (autistic, ADHD, or with other differences in learning and communication). This experience taught me that young people need more than theory — they need an approach that adapts to their way of seeing and experiencing the world.
That means:
-
Creating a safe, non-judgemental space where they feel heard.
-
Adapting how I communicate, depending on sensory and processing needs.
-
Recognising strengths as much as difficulties.
-
Offering practical strategies they can use day-to-day at school, home or socially.
-
Having a good sense of fun and humour.
-
Working with SEND in school and EHCPs

Safeguarding & Professional Practice
I take safeguarding seriously. I will always be clear about confidentiality and the boundaries of my role. I am able to work with clear strategies in line with EHCPs and SEND staff in schools. I am safeguarding compliant and Enhanced DBS insured.
